MODULAR SPIRULINA CULTIVATION SYSTEM
Olympian Optimizations developed a modular spirulina cultivation system aimed at enabling scalable and deployable microalgae production. The project focused on translating cultivation requirements into a structured engineering system that can be consistently implemented across different use cases.
The Challenge
Spirulina cultivation imposes strict constraints on environmental stability and operational control, requiring systems that can reliably maintain these conditions over time. Existing production setups are typically characterized by high installation complexity, reliance on specialized infrastructure, and limited adaptability to varying production scales.
This creates a gap between technical feasibility and practical deployment, particularly for smaller or emerging producers.
Our Approach
The project followed a system engineering approach centered on three key principles: modularity, manufacturability, and deployment simplicity.
Rather than designing a fixed installation, the system was developed as a configurable platform. Emphasis was placed on defining standardized components and interfaces, ensuring that the system could be assembled, replicated, and adapted with minimal variation between implementations.
The Result
The project resulted in a transportable spirulina cultivation system that supports reliable operation while reducing installation complexity. The system can be deployed as a modular kit, assembled on-site, and configured to match different production requirements.
